Boot Campaign

Ginger, Sherri, Heather, Leigh Ann and Mariae are the "Boot Girls." After reading the book Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell, they were inspired to do something for the soldiers that do so much for us. The Boot Campaign was the product of that inspiration. They sell boots like our soldiers wear and give $25.00 for every pair sold to charities that provide programs for active duty and combat veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress disorders and physical injuries. The rest goes to cover the cost of the boots and $25.00 to the cost of marketing and other merchandise. They don't keep a dime for themselves and they do this in their spare time!

There are over 1.3 million soldiers that are on active duty. The mission of the Boot Campaign is for every active duty soldier to have one American honor them by wearing a pair of their boots.  They said it best on their website, "Given the cost of freedom, perhaps buying boots is more like making a donation to honor our servicemen and women around the world. In return, you get a ginormous thank-you card for your donation in the form of boots that you can wear proudly any day of the week and for every occasion!"

I know you're thinking what does this have to do with riding. Well, it kinda does with it being about boots and all, but check this out.... August 28th there will be a Boot Campaign Boot Ride in Hollywood, California featuring none other than the cast from the Sons of Anarchy and honoring our stars from the U.S. Military. I won't be able to go, but I hope you can! If you can't go either, I hope you'll check out their site and order a pair of boots. That I can do and I hope you will too!
